More ways to send an email
The Options button under Send lets you schedule, get a reminder if there's no reply, snooze, archive, link to a job or save a draft.
When you write an email in Inbox, the Options button under Send gives you more ways to send it: later, with a follow-up reminder, straight into the archive, or linked to a job or client.
Before you start
You need a mailbox connected in full-inbox mode (see “Connect your email to read and reply inside the app”). Inbox is available on Solo and up.
Use the send options
- 1Open Inbox from the left sidebar. Click New for a new email, or open a conversation and click Reply, Reply all or Forward.
- 2Fill in To and Subject and write your message.
- 3Click Options, the button right under Send.
- 4Schedule send: pick the date and time under Send at, then click Schedule.
- 5Remind me if no reply: choose In 1 day, In 3 days, In 1 week, or Pick a time…. The email goes now, and if the client hasn't replied by then, you get a reminder in the app and the conversation comes back to the top of your inbox.
- 6Send & link to job/client: the email goes, then choose what to link it to (an invoice, quote, job, contract, client or expense). Click Skip if you change your mind.
- 7Replies only: Send & archive sends and files the conversation away. Send & snooze sends and hides it until In 3 hours, Tomorrow, 8am or Next Monday, 8am.
- 8Save as draft keeps the email without sending. Send test to myself sends a copy to your own address so you can check how it looks.
What happens next
A new email or a forward waits 8 seconds before it goes, with an Undo button in the message at the bottom of the screen. Replies go straight away, with no undo.
A scheduled email shows “Scheduled for …” and goes out at that time.
If something doesn't work
Options is greyed out: the email is still sending, or you have no mailbox selected in From.
“Pick a future date and time”: the time you chose for Schedule send or a reminder has already passed.
“Sent — reminders need an existing thread” or “Sent — open the thread to link it”: the email went, but the conversation wasn't ready yet. Open it from Inbox and link it or snooze it from there.
You don't see Send & archive or Send & snooze: they only appear when you're replying. A forward counts as a new email.
