Ask a client for a review
When you complete a job, tick one box to email the client a link to rate you.
When you finish a job, you can have JobMistr email the client asking how it went. They leave a star rating and an optional comment on the job in their account. You can ask for a review, but you can never write or change it for them.
Before you start
Review requests only work for clients who have their own JobMistr login, because that's where they leave the review. A client gets one by accepting your portal invitation (see “Invite a client to their own portal”). The job also has to be for that client's account.
For clients you've only added to your client list, the review option doesn't appear.
Send a review request
- 1Open the job from Jobs.
- 2At the top right, click the small arrow next to Send invoice & complete to open More completion options.
- 3Tick Also email a review request at the top of the menu.
- 4Choose how to finish the job: Send invoice & complete or Save draft & complete (both open the invoice first), Mark complete & paid (cash), or Mark complete (other reason).
- 5If you chose one of the Mark complete options, check that Also email the client a review request is still ticked in the dialog, then click Mark complete.
What happens next
With the invoice options, a note at the top of the invoice reminds you: “A review request will be emailed to the client.” The email goes when the job is marked complete, once you've sent or saved the invoice.
The client gets an email asking how the service was, with a Leave a Review button. It opens the job in their account, where they choose 1 to 5 stars, add a comment if they like, and click Submit Review.
If two-way reviews are switched on for your account, you'll also see Rate the Client on the completed job, so you can rate them too.
If something doesn't work
No Also email a review request option: the job's client doesn't have their own login, or has no email address. Invite them to the portal first.
No Send invoice & complete button: the job is already completed, or it hasn't been started yet.
The client says they didn't get the email: they may have turned off review request emails in their own notification settings.
