Restore something you deleted

Deleted records are kept for 60 days. Go to Settings → Deleted Items, find the record and choose Restore.

When you delete a client, invoice, job, expense or other record, it isn't gone straight away. It waits in Deleted Items for 60 days, and you can put it back until then.

Restore a record

  1. 1
Go to Settings → Deleted Items (under Preferences).
  2. 2
Find the record. Type in Search deleted items..., or narrow the list by type or by when it was deleted.
  3. 3
Click ⋯ at the end of its row and choose Restore. You'll see “… restored”.
  4. 4
Want to check first? Click the record instead. Its page shows the details, the date it will be permanently deleted, and any Linked items you can tick to bring back with it. Then click Restore at the top.

Several at once: tick the boxes next to the records and click Restore in the bar that appears.

What happens next

The record goes back where it was, with its earlier status. It stays in the list marked Restored, which you see when Show restored is ticked.

Each record shows how long it has left, for example Permanently deleted in 12 days. After that it's gone for good.

Delete permanently removes a record now, together with its files. That can't be undone.

Undo a workspace deletion

Deleting your whole workspace waits 30 days, so you can change your mind. Only the owner can do this.

Go to Settings → Data & export. Under Delete Workspace you see Scheduled: and the date. Click Cancel deletion. You'll see “Deletion cancelled”.

If something doesn't work

There's no Restore option: some records can't be restored. A deleted calendar connection has to be connected again in Settings → Calendar. A deleted commission can't be restored yet.

“Restore failed” or a message naming a supplier invoice: the same document was recorded again after you deleted it. Delete the newer entry first if this is the one to keep.

You can't find the record: it was deleted more than 60 days ago, or it was deleted permanently.
